ABOUT ERICA
Erica is an NYC-based actress, writer and comedian. She plays Maria in True Lies on CBS and recurred as Genie Farrell in the Epix series Bridge and Tunnel. She guest starred as ‘herself’ in the sponsored content episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and is a series correspondent on the Emmy-nominated CBS show Mission Unstoppable about women in STEM.
She starred as “Eva” in the Irish Repertory Theatre’s world premiere of Made by God. She was a house sketch comedy performer for years with her team The Foundation at New York’s Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre, where she also co-created and performed in Los Profesores: a Spanish comedy show for English speakers (like your high school Spanish class, but much, much dumber). She voiced “Erica” in The Truth Podcast’s critically acclaimed 4 part series The Off Season opposite Peter Grosz, and co-hosted the Spanish podcast MedioGringo. Other credits include: Netflix's Murderville, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Brittany Runs a Marathon, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Search Party, Three Women, New Amsterdam and videos on CollegeHumor, Mas Mejor, Funny or Die, and Flama.
A first generation American raised in Texas, she is a true Colombian and German mix: she grew up listening to the brunette Shakira and bringing leberwurst sandwiches to school. Someone once asked her if she was eating cat food.
Erica received her BA in theatre performance and Spanish language and literature from Fordham University. While at Fordham, she studied abroad in Mexico City, solidifying her love of mangoes, avocados, and Latin pop music. After graduating from Fordham, she studied sketch writing and advanced improvisational comedy at the Upright Citizen's Brigade, and started performing characters and impressions around NYC.
